Okay so I’ve used this for golfing 3 times on the course now. Honestly, for the price it’s really not bad at all. It doesn’t take many tries for it to find the pole, it’s pretty accurate. I’m not a pro golfer, so for the price it was totally worth it. the device takes 2x AAA batters (not included). I’m really happy with it for the price. It’s been functioning as intended. The only thing is you need to try to keep your hand still or it might detect the trees behind the flag, but you’ll know from the distance when it detects a tree rather than the flag.
